Dispusip Intensifies Baca Jakarta Movement

Jakarta Library and Archive Department (Dispusip) collaborates with communities to hold Baca Jakarta Movement. This activity is targeting children at age of 7-12 years.

Through this event, children will be challenged to read book as many as they can

Jakarta Dispusip Head, Wahyu Haryadi conveyed, Baca Jakarta Movement is a 30-day reading challenge in Reading Rooms starts from March 11 until April 9, 2020.

"We are targeting children at age of 7-9 years to join this challenge. People outside of the age limit can participate as volunteers or literacy activists," he said, Tuesday (3/3).

Community Reading Park Activation will Be Held in 55 Locations This Year

His side opens registration for those who want to join as participants and volunteers on Baca Jakarta Movement event from February 26 until March 10, 2020. For further information, please contact the nearest Reading Rooms or visit the website at dispusip.jakarta.go.id/dispusip/bacajakarta20/.

"Through this event, children will be challenged to read book as many as they can at the Reading Room. Then, they will be asked to create review of the book they are reading," he conveyed.

Reading Rooms are provided in Children-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA)s, libraries, reading parks, and reading corners.

"We want to increase children's interest in reading, especially in Jakarta. So this event is packed in a happy atmosphere thus children can enjoy it," he stated.
