Market Operation in South Jakarta Requires People to Use Eco-Friendly Bags

The use of eco-friendly bag has been implemented in market operation held at Anggrek Bintaro Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Jalan Garuda Bawah, Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.

Residents who buy subsidized groceries in here have brought their own eco-friendly bags

Bintaro Urban Village's Economy Development Section Head, Endang conveyed, eco-friendly bag is used as an implementation of Gubernatorial Decree (Pergub) Number 142/2019 regarding The Use of Eco-friendly Shopping Bag.

"We start to implement it from February. Residents who buy subsidized groceries in here have brought their own eco-friendly bags," she mentioned, Thursday (3/12).

LH Appreciates Companies Promoting Eco-Friendly Containers

Lina (29), resident of RT 06/01 Bintaro said that her side supported this program. She assessed, eco-friendly bag is more durable and more effective in reducing the use of plastic bag.

"I have several eco-friendly bags in my house. However, we need to reduce the use of plastic," she conveyed.

Other resident also conveyed the similar thing. Novi (34), resident of RT 05/04 Bintaro stated, plastic waste is very dangerous for the environment.

"Government has committed to encourage its citizens to shift from their reliance on plastic. It becomes our job to cooperate with it," she mentioned.
