345 Funeral Workers in South Jakarta Have been Equipped with PPE

The South Jakarta Park and City Urban Sub-agency reports as many as 345 PJLPs serving in 15 public cemetery parks (TPU) in South Jakarta area have been equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working amid the Covid-19 pandemic. They have also been trained on how to prevent Covid-19 transmission.

"We have implemented this policy since March 16," expressed South Jakarta Park and City Urban Sub-agency Head, Winarto, Thursday (4/16).

Specifically for grave diggers, his party provided additional PPE such as gloves and jackets, which aim to protect them from physical contact with the bodies of those who died due to coronavirus.

"After burying the body, they are also required to take a bath until clean, despite they have been equipped with PPE," he furthered.

During PSBB, a number of TPUs cannot be used for mass activities.

"We also have coordinated with Satpol PP, army and police for conducive situation," he closed.
