Water Channel Normalization will Be Carried Out in Accordance with Health Protocols

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency continues to perform normalization in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and channels during Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period while implementing health protocols for all personnel.

Normalization will  be continued by following the health protocols

Jakarta SDA Agency Head, Juaini Yusuf said, channel normalization should be carried out to anticipate inundation and flood.

"Normalization will be continued by following the health protocols from WHO, Gubernatorial Instruction, and Health Agency regarding COVID-19 prevention," he conveyed, Thursday (4/16).

According to him, flood control should be continued because rain still often falls in Jakarta. Besides, it is also important to maintain reservoirs, rivers, and channels in good condition.

"All personnel have committed to ensure no flood in Jakarta. Thus we need to optimize our work in the field by applying shift system for pump officers and our personnel on the field," he explained.

Related to this, his side has issued Circular Letter No. 07/SE/2020 about Wearing Face Mask to Prevent Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Transmission for Civil Apparatuses and Other Individual Service Providers (PJLP) in Water Resources Agency.

Furthermore, there was also Jakarta Water Resources Agency Head Instruction No. 31/2020 about Work System Adjustment of PNS and PJLP for the Participation of PSBB Implementation in Jakarta Water Resources Agency Agency.

"Not only ensuring no flood in Jakarta, we also participate in preventing COVID-19 transmission by implementing health protocols, spraying disinfectant, and cleaning pump houses," he added.

During COVID-19 pandemic, he anticipates no flood or inundation in Jakarta.

"We will do our best and pray. Now, people have difficulty because of COVID-19 and we don't want flood to make them more suffer," he expressed.
