Jakarta Secretariat's Mental and Spiritual Education Bureau (Dikmental) advises residents to perform prayers during Ramadan at home in order to avoid coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission.

Jakarta Dikmental Bureau Head, Hendra Hidayat mentioned, his side has coordinated with Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) to participate in socializing this advice to the muslims.
"Jakarta Government together with MUI and DMI continues to urge people to perform night prayers (tarawih) that usually done at mosque to be done at home together with the family," he conveyed, Monday (4/20).

"I hope all people can follow it for the common good. Hopefully COVID-19 pandemic to end soon thus we can do our activities as usual," he expressed.
He informed that Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period in Jakarta will be extended thus he expected people to stay at home during Ramadan.
"This policy also applies to other religious communities in Jakarta. We urge them to pray at home and obey the regulations during PSBB thus medical team can be optimal in handling COVID-19 pandemic," he mentioned.
