"Those libraries in question are in Cikini and Kuningan areas, as well as H.B. Jassin Literature Document Center, including mobile library (Pusling) and Jakarta Community Library (Permata)," stated Jakarta Library and Archives Agency Head, Wahyu Haryadi, Sunday (4/26).

He explained it is done to optimize physical distancing. Yet for people who want to keep reading during PSBB can use digital library services or through iJakarta digital library application.

Closing Libraries in South Jakarta is Extended to Three Weeks

"iJakarta is a platform that allows users to access digital books that can be read online or offline anywhere and anytime," he explained.

Even users can interact with each other, provide book recommendations and even write reviews related to the book they are reading.

"We're doing this to stop the spread of COVID-19," he closed.
