Temporary Shelters Prepared for Fire Victims in Tambora

West Jakarta Social Sub-agency provided several shelters for fire victims on Jalan Jembatan Besi II, Tambora. Not only shelters, but also meals and aid to fulfill residents needs.

We provided four temporary shelters

West Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Mursidin mentioned, his side provided four shelters at Jembatan Besi Urban Village Office, Nurul Fallah Musala (prayer room) at RT 02/03 Jembatan Besi Urban Village Head's official residence, and his side also planned to borrow school area owned by Chandra Naya Foundation.

"We provided four temporary shelters. Each location can accommodate 20-30 people," he informed, Tuesday (5/19).

Furthermore, his side also distributed 576 sanitary pads, 300 baby diapers, 30 blankets, 36 towels, 30 floor mats, 2 sets of tent, 400 portions of meals which cooked in public kitchen at West Jakarta Mayor Office.

"This afternoon, we provide 400 meals for them. We also provide meals for suhoor and iftar while updating the list of their needs," he said.

For information, fire occurred at densely populated settlement of Jembatan Besi Urban Village, Tambora this morning. Fire gutted 102 houses which caused 773 people homeless.
