Eid Prayer, Health Protocols Implemented at Tidung Island's Grand Mosque

Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands apparatuses together with Safe Islands Task Force and Health Teams conducted Eid prayer with local residents by implementing health protocols at Nurul Huda Grand Mosque, Tidung Island, Sunday (5/24).

All visitors should be checked by health workers before entering the Mosque

Tidung Island Urban Village Head, Hafsah conveyed, Moslems who want to conduct Eid prayer at Mosque should check their body temperature, bring their own prayer rugs, wear masks, perform ablution from their houses, and maintain physical distancing at the Mosque.

"Health protocols are important to be carried out to prevent coronavirus transmission. All visitors should be checked by health workers before entering the Mosque," he explained, Sunday (5/24).

Thousand islands Regency Holds Virtual Prayer Together

According to him, children and sick people were encouraged to perform Eid prayers at home.

"We apply physical distance between worshipers and remind them not to shake hands after the prayer," he added.

From the night before, he continued, his side didn't found takbir (Eid al-Fitr's eve) celebration on the island like a year before.

"We also remind people to pray for their deceased relatives from home instead of performing grave pilgrimage to avoid crowd during the pandemic," he stated.
