Tourism Industries in Thousand Islands Urged to Follow Health Protocols

All parties agree to want to produce safely, tourism remains in operation and security of residents is maintained

Thousand Islands Regent Husein Murad, socialized the implementation of health protocols to tourism industry actors incorporated in resort associations, homestay associations and tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) at the Mitra Praja Office, Sunter, North Jakarta.

According to him, it was a preliminary preparation for the opening of the tourism sector activity next weekend. To them, his side explained the health protocol SOP for transportation, homestay, beach tourism, snorkeling, diving and restaurants.

"All parties agree to want to produce safely, tourism remains in operation and security of residents is maintained," he expressed.

In the SOP, all operators starting from Transportation Agency, homestay, resorts and travel services owners are required to have a thermo gun (body temperature check tool), data documentation of tourists (visitors) including the full address for anticipation if there is a COVID-19 case for fast tracking, impose administrative sanctions for violators, sign an integrity pact with the Tourism Creative Economic Sub-agency.

Further, impose 50 percent capacity from boats, rooms, restaurants and beach tourism, provide sanitation facilities, implement health protocols while maintaining physical distancing and reducing face-to-face activities.

"Especially for snorkeling and diving, tourists must bring their own equipment for the sake of health and safety together," he asserted.
