Satpol PP Tightens Health Protocols Implementation in Public Places

Jakarta Satpol PP prepared personnel to guard in several crowded places such as traditional markets and along Jalan Sudirman - Jalan M.H. Thamrin to optimize the compliance of COVID-19 health protocols.

It involves all Satpol PP personnel in all Jakarta regions

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin mentioned, his side will be focused on mask usage as regulated on Article 8 of Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No. 51/2020 concerning PSBB Monitoring in the Transition Period towards a Healthy, Safe, and Productive Community.

"We have started it since yesterday by holding activity of 'Education to Make People Discipline' in wearing mask. It involves all Satpol PP personnel in all Jakarta regions without reducing our performance at the Large-s cale Social Restrictions (PSBB) checkpoints in border areas," he explained, Thursday (6/11).

West Jakarta Satpol PP Intensifies Monitoring in Business Places

According to his monitoring on Wednesday (6/10), his side has given written warning to 12 violators in form of public facilities or places, as well as imposed administrative sanctions on 167 violators both individual, business places or public facilities, and social sanctions on 1,036 people.

"From administrative sanction, we have collected Rp 58,800,000 yesterday," he added.

By imposing sanctions, his side hoped it could give deterrent effect to the violators thus they could care more about their health and others in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

"In this activity, we are not only educating people, but also imposing social sanction or administrative sanction Rp 250,000 in accordance with applicable regulations. Collected fines will be handed over to regional treasury," he said.
