BNPB Monitors Progress of COVID Cases in Thousand Islands

If the results are negative, the Thousand Islands will be free from the coronavirus

The COVID-19 Handling Task Force Team under Jakarta National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), monitored the progress of handling the COVID-19 spread on Tidung and Pramuka islands, on Thursday (6/18).

Maj. Gen. (ret) Afanti S Uloli, Head of Greater Jakarta COVID-19 Handling Task Force said that their arrival aimed to gather information from the COVID-19 task force which succeeded in suppressing positive numbers and maintaining zero cases.

"If this condition can be maintained, they (Thousand Islands) can be an example for other sub-districts to stop the spread of COVID-19," he expressed.

Of 12 positive patients, 11 of them had recovered and now only one patient is waiting for the final swab test results.

"If the results are negative, the Thousand Islands will be free from the coronavirus," he told.

Thousand Islands Vice Regent Junaedi added that this success was inseparable from the cooperation of all parties, as well as awareness and discipline of citizens.

"We continue to encourage citizens to implement the health protocol, thus the Thousand Islands become healthy, safe and productive," he stated.
