Food Station Obtains MURI Record for the Fastest Production and Launching of Canned Sardines and Corned Beef in the World

As the food supplier for social assistance (Bansos) packages distribution in Jakarta, PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Jakarta Regional-owned Enterprise (BUMD) launched canned food products in form of sardines and corned beef. Those packages will be distributed to the residents affected by COVID-19 during Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period.

Because of this effort, Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) gave an award to Food Tjipinang for canned food product with the fastest development and launching. This award was handed over directly by MURI's Founder, Jaya Suprana to the Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (6/22).

Anies assessed, canned food products such as sardines and corned beef can be a solution for urban residents to fulfill their needs of protein in the midst of pandemic.

Food Station is Ready to Launch Canned Sardine and Corned Beef Products

"We are well aware that most people in the urban areas need food that contains of protein that can be distributed well and stored for a long time. In reality, we need protein that can last a long time, especially to be distributed for residents affected by the pandemic, which is protein in packaged form," he explained, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

Therefore, he really appreciated Food Station's efforts and hard work in creating good quality products that contain of protein within a very short time. Thus it can meet the need of Jakarta residents during the pandemic, even after the pandemic is over.

"I convey my appreciation to all and I hope this product can give benefit to everyone. Besides, I also hope award from MURI can motivate Food Station and other UMKMs in Jakarta to make other records," he added.

According to PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya President Director, Arief Prasetyo explained, his side produced the canned sardines and corned beef within 12 days, or 9 work days. Starting from the submission process, designing, packaging, making the composition, and obtaining trademark license from Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) and halal certification from Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

"Alhamdulillah, everything can be done quickly. But its quality is very good which equivalent with other national brands," he mentioned.

Moreover, by producing its own canned sardines and corned beef, now Food Station can cut directly the supply flow that affects the market and price of the product, thus those products are expected not only fulfilling the need of Bansos, but also can be distributed commercially at affordable prices.

"We cut the supply chain as well as marketing fee. It means, we can offer this product to public with a good price. Moreover, we also plan for developing other products, such as cooking oil, rice, sugar, and others, thus Business-to-Business can still continue," he added.

Meanwhile, the Founder of MURI, Jaya Suprana mentioned, canned corned beef and sardines production by Food Station is not only the fastest production in Indonesia, but also in the world.

"The record obtained by Food Station is not only the fastest launch for canned sardines and corned beef products in Indonesia, but also in the world. They explain that it takes 12 days to finish, but later it will be attempted to be faster, about 6-7 days," he closed.
