Plastic-free Lifestyle Program in Markets and Outlets Keeps Being Intensified

The East Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency continues to promote socialization about the mandatory use of eco-friendly shopping bags in two traditional markets and 25 minimart outlets.

Cleanliness and Waste Management B3 Division Head Wahyudi Rudianto said that it was in accordance with Gubernatorial Regulation number 14/2019 on the use of eco-friendly shopping bags. After the socialization was done, his party hoped that citizens could implement it seriously.

"It is done massively, as we will apply it on July 1," he expressed, Monday (6/29).

According to him, socialization itself through his 20 personnel was intensified in Ujung Menteng and Klender SS markets, as well as 25 outlets in 10 sub-districts.

"We also have put up banners calling for the use of eco-friendly shopping bags," he stated.
