COVID-19 and Fire Socialization Has Touched 599 Locations Throughout June

The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency says danger of fire and COVID-19 prevention socialization in East Jakarta has touched 599 locations throughout June.

Of 599 locations, East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Muchtar Zakaria said, 388 were alleys or settlement streets and 211 were places of worship or locally known as mushala.

East Jakarta Has Conducted Fire Socialization in 46 Locations

"We're doing this to contain COVID-19 pandemic and fire cases during transitional PSBB," he expressed, Wednesday (7/8).

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Prevention Division Head Edi Parwoko said, to support socialization, as many as 882 firefighters were alerted, including 432 motorcycles and 52 cars.

"It is more to solicitation thus people always undergo health protocols," he told.

As for the fire prevention, the material given was that residents must be more careful in the use of gas and electric stoves. That is by not leaving the stove on or ignoring household appliances powered by electricity left on without stopping for days.

They should also stack switches that cause electrical short-circuits.
