Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) continued his survey to several flooding points in Jakarta. Previously, he has surveyed flooding points in East Jakarta and South Jakarta, and on Thursday (7/9) morning he surveyed several flooding points along Angke River within 2 urban villages, namely Kedoya Utara and Duri Kosambi Urban Villages, West Jakarta.

According to him, flood prevention and handling should be carried out in fast pace. Starting from land acquisition, sheet pile construction and polder system which carried out in collaboration between Jakarta Government and central government, both for funding and technical workmanship.
East Jakarta Optimizes Flood Prevention ProgramsFor information, previously Jakarta Government has discussed flood handling in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Puncak, and Cianjur (Jabodetabek-Punjur) together with PUPR Ministry and ATR/BPN Ministry, as regulated in Presidential Regulation No. 60/2020 which enacted by President Joko Widodo on April 2020.
"Then also today, we will meet with Bappenas Ministry, later in afternoon we will continue to discuss about acceleration in flood handing in Jakarta. Hopefully in the future, we can take steps more quickly in accordance with governor's instructions and directions for flood management and prevention," he added.
He expected, Detail Engineering Design (DED) to complete next month. Thus work on river arrangement can be done this year, including the completion of sheet pile construction and land acquisition.
"Later on, when it has been released and built, God willing, the local residents will be free from flood. For now, when water level is rising, this area is flooded, as well as in Kedoya Utara. Every full moon, when the sea water level rises, it always flooded for at least a week. Hopefully, after it has been built for the next few months there will be no flood,"
