This July, LH Holds Free Emission Tests in Jakarta

Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency holds 6 emission test for free in this July.

We are targeting 100 vehicles both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles to participate in each emission test

The emission test is targeting two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. Vehicle owners who buy any kinds of fuel at gas stations can participate in this free emission test by showing the transaction receipt.

Previously, free emission test was held in Pulogadung and Kemayoran and the latest on July 9 at North Jakarta Mayor Office. Next, it will be held on July 16 at South Jakarta Mayor Office, on July 23 at West Ja karta Mayor Office, and on July 30 at Central Jakarta Mayor Office.

Pertamina and LH Agency Hold Free Emission Test

Jakarta LH Agency Head, Andono Warih mentioned, this emission test is one of his efforts to improve air quality in Jakarta.

"Through emission test, we expect people to know the condition of exhaust fumes from their vehicles to prevent it from polluting the environment," he explained, Thursday (7/9).

In free emission test, he continued, there were six elements of vehicle exhaust fumes measured, namely compounds of HC (Hydrocarbons), CO (Carbon Monoxide), CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), O2 (Oxygen), NO (Nitrogen Oxide), and Lambda.

"We are targeting 100 vehicles both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles to participate in each emission test," he stated.

According to him, it is in accordance with Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No. 66/2019 concerning Air Quality Control on August 1, 2019 that mandates to tighten emission test provisions for all private vehicles.

"Thus not only four-wheeled vehicles, but we also hold emission test for two-wheeled vehicles," he conveyed.
