The Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) gave awards to 450 donors. The award was given for those who have donated 50 to 100 times . It is a form of appreciation for citizens who donate without strings.
The 75 times donor will get award from governor, while 100 times the award is given by president
Head of Jakarta PMI, Rini Sutiyoso, said this award is yearly agenda. "The 75 times donor will get award from governor, while 100 times the award is given by president," Rini said, Sunday (10/11).
According to Rini, blood bag target per year is 300,000 bags. Last year, the achievement was 381,000 bags.
Blood Stock in Jakarta PMI Thinning"This year has reached 75 percent out of target 325,000 bags. The number will decrease every fasting month," Rini added.
Fidelis Basuki (72), the donor who get award from PMI, admitted he could not donate his blood because his weight less than 50 kilos. Suddenly in 1979, one of his relations got bleeding and needed blood.
"That was the moment I started to donate my blood until now," he said.
