Head of PT KAI's Operational Region I Public Relation, Agus Komarduin stated the demolishment should be conducted due to its owner violated the rules and endanger the safety of train trip.

"I think this has been stated in the Law of Train. We also had installed a warning board on prohibition of building houses, walls, fences, dikes, and other buildings on the railway track," he asserted.

According to him, in the law of train article 192 mentions for those who build a building on the PT KAI's land will be sued by imprisonment over 1 year and fine Rp 100 million.

He expressed, PT KAI does not provide compensation for building owners. This is because, for decades, they have lived on PT KAI's land illegally.

"Certainly, this is very dangerous if we build a house around railway track," he stressed.

Head of Operational Section for Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Maruli Sijabat said 20 personnel deployed to the field to assist such demolishment. "PT KAI asked for help from us to demolish illegal buildings," he exclaimed.
