PMI Ramps Up Efforts to Collect Blood to Urban Villages and Sub-districts

This action aims to meet blood needs for hospitals in Jakarta and its surrounding areas

The Jakarta office of Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has ramped up efforts to collect blood in the face of decreasing donations by holding blood donation in sub-district and urban village offices. They target to meet 1,000 bags per day.

"This action aims to meet blood needs for hospitals in Jakarta and its surrounding areas," expressed Jakarta PMI Chairperson, Rustam Effendi, Monday (8/10).

West Jakarta PMI Distributes Portable Sinks

His party planned to hold jemput bola service to urban village and sub-district offices for taking blood donors from residents.

"On August 25, the PMI is set to hold another blood donor together with the sub-district social agency (LMK) in West Jakarta. At least we can collect 500 bags," he expressed.

He uttered that blood needs for hospitals amid the transitional period III should be 1,000 bags per day

"For a week starting from August 10 to 18, we'll open services in collaboration with a number of communities, including bicycle lovers and other communities holding blood donations at the Jakarta PMI office. Hopefully what we need is achieved," he stated.
