Satpol PP Anticipates Crowd at Indonesia's 75th Independence Day

Anticipating crowd, Jakarta Satpol PP deployed personnel down to urban village levels to monitor people's activities in commemorating Indonesia's 75th Independence Day.

We have about 5 thousands personnel down to urban village levels to monitor the area

Satpol PP Head, Arifin appealed Jakarta residents for not holding events or activities that can cause a crowd in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic. There are several alternative activities that can be done to commemorate Indonesia's Independence Day.

"There are things that can be done without reducing our spirit of independence, such as decorating villages, installing flags, or virtual competitions that don't gather people, such as reading poetry online," he said, Monday (8/17).

According to him, all personnel in the regions have coordinated with local apparatuses and communities, such as RT/RW administrators, religious leaders, and local residents for socializing the temporary prohibition for activities that gather people in one place.

"We have collaborated with friends in the regions to socialize the local residents through musala (prayer room) and RT/RW administrators. We have about 5 thousands personnel down to urban village levels to monitor the area," he conveyed.
