On August 3-19, we have sanctioned 6,894 violators

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Bernard Tambunan conveyed, those were sanctioned because they didn't wear mask in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic.

"On August 3-19, we have sanctioned 6,894 violators. When our personnel carried out PSBB operation, most of the violators didn't wear mask," he stated, Wednesday (8/19).

East Jakarta Satpol PP Imposed Sanctions on 12.379 PSBB Violators

In details, there are 408 violators in Gambir Sub-district; 1,340 violators in Menteng Sub-district; 1,448 violators in Tanah Abang Sub-district; 795 violators in Sawah Besar Sub-district; 411 violators in Senen Sub-district; 355 violators in Cempaka Putih Sub-district; 875 violators in Kemayoran Sub-district, and 554 violators in Johar Baru Sub-district.

According to him, those who were subjected to social sanctions didn't want to pay fine as much as Rp 250 thousand per person. Instead, they chose to clean up public facilities such as sidewalks, parks, roads, or water channel.

In the other hand, 794 violators opted for paying the fine. Thus in August, Central Jakarta Satpol PP collected fines with total Rp 126,350,000.

"We give them Jakarta Government account number and instruct them to transfer the fine via Bank DKI. Thus it directly goes to regional treasury," he informed.
