Regency and Pertamina Carry Out Compensation Sampling Test for Residents Affected by Waste Oil Spill

Thousand Islands Regency and Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) subsidiary conducted sampling test for final stage of compensation payment to residents affected by oil waste pollution occurred in July 2019.

Thousand Islands Assistant for Economy and Development (Asekbang), Iwan P. Samosir conveyed, Thousand Islands was the first compensation recipient of several regions that were affected by YYA-1 type oil spill. For information, 143 residents received compensation, consisting of 91 Untung Jawa Island residents and 52 Lancang Island residents.

Sampling test, he added, was monitored by Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and carried out by implementing health protocols.

"Officers and residents who are involved must take rapid test first and require to wear mask, maintain safe distance, set the time to visit to avoid crowd," he mentioned.

PHE Relations Vice President, Ifki Sukarya explained, his side conducted sampling test on several professions of the recipients by involving Pokja Team, PPLH IPB, BPKP Team, and Indonesian Attorney General's Office Team.
