Transjakarta Bus Asked to Accommodate Disabled People

PT Transjakarta was asked to develop the appropriate infrastructure, considering we already its bylaw

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama asked the PT Transjakarta should accommodate the disabled people as soon as possible. "Our bus system must be able to provide (access) for disabled people," said Basuki, at City Hall, Wednesday (10/15).

Currently, he disclosed, Transjakarta bus's infrastructure has not been met the needs of disabled people.

"PT Transjakarta was asked to develop the appropriate infrastructure, considering we already its bylaw," he stated.

Former regent of East Belitung added that Transjakarta bus officers at every bus stop must have a quick respond to the disabled people.

"That's why we prepare the free double-decker bus, thus its deck could be shorter. There must be space for disabled people. This is a must. But this time, we're still focusing on the bus stop improvement," he uttered.
