Central Jakarta Mayor Inaugurates COVID-19 Monument Installation at Kendal Tunnel

Central Jakarta Mayor, Bayu Meghantara inaugurated COVID-19 monument at Kendal Tunnel on Jalan Kendal, Menteng Sub-district, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/1) afternoon.

It is a symbol to remind people that we are still in the midst of pandemic

This monument was installed simultaneously in 8 sub-districts of Central Jakarta to remind people to be careful when doing activities outside and always comply with health protocols.

"It is a symbol to remind people that we are still in the midst of pandemic. We hope residents can be more discipline in implementing health protocols," he conveyed at the location.

North Jakarta to Tighten Health Protocols in its Region

The COVID-19 monuments were installed in strategic locations such as at Block F Market in Tanah Abang Sub-district, intersection of Karang Anyar Police Station in Sawah Besar Sub-district, and Simpang Lima in Senen Sub-district. This monument will give updated information regarding COVID-19 cases in the region.

"It informs number of people exposed to COVID-19 in the region. In order not to get worse, we must comply with health protocols. It is not installed to scare people, but to warn us to be more careful," he closed.
