BPS to Conduct Door-to-door Census in North Jakarta Today

Local RT will be involved to help us, as they already know the ins and outs of people in the neighborhood

The North Jakarta Statistics (BPS) will carry out the national population census in person, despite the ongoing COVID-19 crisis today, Tuesday (9/1). It will be done to commence its door-to-door efforts by implementing health protocols.

"Each officer is armed with data from the results of the Online Population Census (SPO) and data belonging to the Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Agency," expressed North Jakarta BPS Head, Suhartono.

He expressed the population census did not require households to fill out a questionnaire. The officer only conducts the interview process to ensure that the household is in accordance with the data they have.

"Local RT will be involved to help us, as they already know the ins and outs of people in the neighborhood," he stated.

He went on to say that they had undergone rapid and swab tests a few days ago. Even in carrying out duties, they should implement 3M protocols (Mencuci tangan (washing hands), Memakai masker (wearing masks) and Menjaga jarak (keeping a distance).

He targeted the operation would end within 15 days ahead and was expected to get support from all circles for optimal results.

"It will be held together with the Administration Bureau, as well as urban village and sub-district heads, Friday (8/28). The results of this census can be used as initial data for determining future government policies," he stated.
