Bank Indonesia JPO will Be Dismantled for Thamrin Station Construction

PT. MRT Jakarta will dismantle Bank Indonesia (BI) Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) as a part of MRT Jakarta Thamrin Station construction. JPO dismantling will be carried out on September 4-20, 2020.

PT. MRT Jakarta and the contractor (Shimizu-Adhi Karya Joint Venture) have compiled method to dismantle JPO which is considered most effective, both from technical point of view, work security and safety, and public interest.
"In order to support Bank Indonesia JPO dismantling, we will apply traffic engineering management (MRLL) on Jalan MH. Thamrin from intersection on Jalan Kebon Sirih until intersection on Jalan Medan Merdeka that has been coordinated with Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) and Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya)," explained William Sabandar, President Director of PT. MRT Jakarta in written statement, on Wednesday (9/2).

While dismantling the west ramp of Bank Indonesia JPO, three traffic lanes will be closed, leaving two lanes for vehicles and one lane for Transjakarta on the west side.
"Later on, we will divert the traffic from 11 PM to 4 AM. Traffic signs and barriers will be installed before the work starts," he mentioned.
Entering the second phase on September 10-14, his side will dismantle center median of JPO ramp. In the process, two vehicle lanes and one Transjakarta lane will be closed but three vehicle lanes on the west side will be opened. Traffic diversion will be carried out from 11 PM to 4 AM where the traffic signs and barriers will be installed before the work.
The third phase (September 10-17) for east JPO ramp, three vehicle lanes will be closed, leaving two lanes for vehicles and one Transjakarta lane on the east side. Traffic diversion will be carried out from 11 PM to 4 AM.
The fourth phase will be started on September 18, where JPO girder and west side all traffic lanes (carriageway) on the west side of Jalan MH. Thamrin including Transjakarta lanes will be closed to public from 11 PM to 4 AM.
Road users from south of Jalan Sudirman that heading towards horse statue through Bank Indonesia, can lead to Jalan Kebon Sirih then turn left at Kebon Sirih Intersection to Jalan Fachrudin, then turn right at the first intersection. Stay on the right side and turn right into Jalan Jati Baru Raya. On the first intersection, turn left to Jalan Abdul Muis. Around 250 meters ahead, turn right on the second intersection to go to Jalan Budi Kemuliaan.
For residents who want to continue the trip to Jalan MH. Thamrin, can lead to the north lane from Thamrin Horse Statue intersection.
Entering the fifth phase on September 19, during the lifting of east side JPO girder, the center and east median column, then all carriageway on the east side of Jalan MH. Thamrin, including Transjakarta lanes, will be closed from 11 PM
to 4 AM.Road users who take the trip from north of Jalan Thamrin to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources that leads to Jalan Sudirman and Senayan, can go through Jalan Merdeka Selatan, then take the first U-turn. Around 530 meters ahead, turn left into Jalan H. Agus Salim. On the first intersection, turn right to Jalan Kebon Sirih until the find the next intersection, then turn left to the south of Jalan Thamrin.
According to him, Bank Indonesia JPO will be closed from September 4, 2020. For Transjakarta Corridor 1 bus users can use zebra crossing on the intersection of Jalan MH. Thamrin - Jalan Kebon Sirih.
