Jakarta Transportation Council (DTKJ) Head Harris Muhamadun supports the modern transportation development program by paying attention to justice and equality in Jakarta.
"It must be more advanced, modern and fair, as well as able to serve the needs of all citizens, including persons with disabilities," he expressed, on the sidelines of a virtual discussion, Wednesday (8/26).
Number of Public Transportation Passengers Increases by 4.4 PercentAccording to him, studies were being carried out on transportation facilities and infrastructure that met standards for persons with disabilities, including facilities on sidewalks, bus stops until facilities on buses and trains.
"Its development must be much more than the expectations for persons with disabilities," he said.
Jakarta Transportation Agency's Public Transportation Division Head Susilo explained, to support it, his side was working on providing several facilities and infrastructure for persons with disabilities, like as ramps, lanes to toilets at the bus terminal. There were also mass transportation facilities included lifts at MRT stations, special signs and priority seats in public transportation.
"Some points already have them and will be intensified continuously in order to create a sense of safe and comfort when they ride public transportation," he stated.
