PPAPP Agency Intensifies 3M Campaign Through Gebrak Masker

The Jakarta Child Protection and Empowerment and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency keeps conducting a massive campaign about 3M protocols (Mencuci tangan (washing hands), Memakai masker (wearing masks) and Menjaga jarak (keeping a distance) in order to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19.

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head Tuty Kusumawati said it was done through Gebrak Masker (mask operation) that was by distributing free masks to the elderly people and cormobid individuals who were prone to COVID-19. Those who received masks were based on Carik Jakarta data.

"We're mapping people who have a high risk of being exposed to the disease," she said, Monday (9/7).

The criteria for getting a mask were elderly people over 60 years old, people with high blood pressure, with heart disease, with diabetes, with lung disease and with cancer.

She went on to say that the Carik Jakarta data was very important to identify the number of individuals or groups vulnerable to exposure.

In this matter, Jakarta Family Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK) had attempted to collect elderly data and cormobid data via Carik Jakarta by Dasawisma cadres.

"They (cadres) carry out activities including distributing masks, as well as mobilizing and raising public awareness to implement 3M with a more specific target from Carik Jakarta," she continued.

She explained Gebrak Masker is a series of 3M campaigns. It was not about how many masks are produced, but the participation of PKK or Dasawisma cadres in mobilizing people to implement 3M, starting with the use of masks.

"Gebrak Masker is indeed just a name, but the essence is how to mobilize the potential of the PKK in educating the public to implement 3M. The campaign and the encouragement are the most important," she explained.

His agency also appreciated them who did not stop serving and encouraged people to avoid the disease.

"Without feeling tired, they took to the streets while distributing masks to each individual or vulnerable group of exposure," she stressed.

As for the information, this program is compliance with Governor Instruction number 25/2020 on the Protection and Prevention of Transmission in Communities at High Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Jakarta.
