Seaweed farmers in Pramuka Island and Panggang Island, North Thousand Islands obtained various training courses and assistance to improve their production results.

Those assistance were including training on seaweed product packaging, product processing, online marketing and partnerships, and medical device assistance related to COVID-19.
Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Pepen Kuswandi conveyed his appreciation to universities for assisting residents through community service program.

Meanwhile, Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ) Industrial Technology of Packaging Printing (TICK) Study Program Head, Muryeti mentioned, the purpose of this program was to develop an independent fishermen community by selling processed seaweed products as an alternative because of declining catch.
"We train them both virtually and face-to-face and support them in selling their seaweed products," she stated.
In the same location, Durrotun Nasihin Foundation Chairperson, Setiawati as the mentor of seaweed fishermen community conveyed, this program was started through research related to fishermen problems, trainings, making product packaging, and marketing.
"Hopefully it can be useful for fishermen community in Thousand Islands," she said.
