Tidung Kecil Island PBKL Distributes Thousands Mangrove Seedlings

Tidung Kecil Island Marine Cultivation and Conservation Center (PBKL) of Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Agency distributed thousands mangrove seedlings and hundreds coral seedlings to the marine conservation groups.

It is carried out for the maintenance of coastal area from damage and coastal abrasion

Jakarta KPKP Agency's Tidung Kecil PBKL Unit Head, Cecep Hermawan mentioned, his side distributed 1,250 mangrove seedlings and 500 coral seedlings to Community-based Marine Protection Area (DPL-BM), Lestari Indah Pulau Tidung Group.

"It is carried out for the maintenance of coastal area from damage and coastal abrasion," he said, Monday (9/21).

City Required to Optimize Environmental Conservation in Thousand Islands

According to him, Tidung Kecil Island as the center of information, conservation and ecology needed support from all parties, such as conservation groups assisted by KPKP Agency to develop mangrove nursery and planting as an effort to prevent abrasion and restore marine ecosystem.

"Support from coastal communities can improve environmental preservation and expand area for mangrove trees in Tidung Kecil and other residential islands," he closed.
