East Jakarta Mayor Monitors Three Reservoirs Normalization Process

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar monitored normalization progress of three reservoirs in the region, on Tuesday (10/6).

In this monitoring, his side was accompanied by Economic Development Assistant, Kusmanto; SDA Sub-agency Head, Santo; Forestry Sub-agency Head, Christian Tamora Hutagalung; Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Muhammad Soleh; Satpol PP Head, Budi Novian; and other related officials.

"We are here to monitor and ensure normalization progress of Pondok Ranggon Reservoir, Tiu Reservoir, and Wira Jasa Retention Basin (Embung) are on target," he stated, Tuesday (10/6).

He assessed, although the normalization has not been completed yet, but when it rained yesterday, those three reservoirs were able to minimize inundation and flooding in the area.

"If water level in Sunter Hulu reaches 250 centimeters and on Alert 2 level, then Cipinang Melayu and its surroundings could be inundated around 1-2 meters. But yesterday, even there is no puddle along the banks of Sunter River," she mentioned.

Related to this normalization project, he conveyed that there are four heavy equipment used to dredge Pondok Ranggon Reservoir that covering area of approximately eleven hectares.

Those heavy equipment are not only used for dredging, but also to raise embankment in reservoir.

Meanwhile, his side continues to accelerate crossing channel construction in Sunter River that leads to Tiu Reservoir in Setu and Wira Jasa Retention Basin construction at RW 06 Cipinang Melayu, Makasar.

"We hope the normalization process can be completed soon thus inundation and flooding in the region can be minimized," he said.
