11 Water Channels and Crossing Channels will Be Built in East Jakarta

East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency will build water channels and crossing channels in 11 locations.

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Development Section Head, Teuku Saugi Zikri conveyed, water channels and crossing channels construction is one of priority programs to overcome inundation in the region.

"We hope building more water channels and crossing channels can minimize inundation in East Jakarta," he said, Wednesday (10/21).

The auction process for channels construction has been carried out.

Next, the socialization stage has been also carried out on Monday (10/19) and Tuesday (10/20). After that, his side checked the utility network and targeted to complete it this week.

"Checking is needed to ensure the channels don't hit utility networks such as Telkom and PLN cables, optical fiber, PDAM, and so on," he stated.

According to him, his side will build two crossing channels on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jatinegara on Friday (10/23).

He explained, one crossing channel along 46 meters is located in front of Jakarta SDA Agency's Investigation, Testing, and Measurement Management Unit Office and in front of IBN Campus and Cimory Penas along 71 meters.

Each crossing channels are installed with box culvert with size 1.5x1.5 meters.

"While the other 10 channels will be built next week," he mentioned.
