This Year, LH Agency Targets to Verify 550 Emission Test Sites in Jakarta

Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency targets to hold emission test in 550 locations, both workshops or kiosks, for this year.

We train them to increase number of technicians who are capable in conducting emission test

Jakarta LH Agency Head, Andono Warih conveyed, his side has recorded 268 emission test locations in Jakarta. This number is considered not ideal to meet the emission testing services.

"For cars, we have 4.1 million units, thus we need around 550 emission test workshops and 14 million motorbikes, which means we need around 1,400 emission test sites. That is the ideal target," he asserted, Friday (11/6).

LH Agency continues to accelerate its work to provide emission test sites with and adequate number and distribution for Jakarta residents.

For example, by providing certification training to 300 Emission Test Organizing Workshops (BPUE) technicians in October 2020. Those technicians came from 87 authorized workshops of Single Agent Brand (ATPM) and other workshops.

"We train them to increase number of technicians who are capable in conducting emission test. Later, they will be assigned to hold emission test in workshops, kiosks, and emission test service vehicles," he explained.

After finishing the training, those technicians will not only got certificates, but also E-Uji Emisi account. Moreover, workshop where the technicians work will be automatically registered in E-Uji Emisi system.

"242 workshops have been registered in the system, while we currently creating accounts for the remaining 26 workshops," he closed.
