Tunas Harapan RPTRA Caretaker Develops Herbal Soap Products

We have sold 100 bottles so far. In addition to foam a lot, users admit that this soap is softer on the hands, clean and fragrant

The Tunas Harapan Child-friendly playground (RPTRA) in Sunter Jaya area, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta is developing herbal hand washing soap products with the label Jinten Herbal Soap (JHS).

Tunas Harapan RPTRA Caretaker Ayip said, the herbal product was made from the main ingredient of black cumin leaves, which were grown in the local RPTRA environment. The selection of black cumin leaves as the main raw material for manufacture was because this plant had antiseptic and anti-fungal properties.

New Year Holiday, RPTRAs in West Jakarta are Closed

"Black cumin leaves are beneficial for health and are abundant in Tunas Harapan RPTRA. That's why we try to take advantage of it," he said, Monday (12/28).

He explained the process of making soap started with boiling black cumin leaves combined with sodium sulfate, taxopan, foam buster, essential oils and food coloring. After everything is mixed, let the boiled water sit for one day thus the resulting soapy water is clearer.

Before it was distributed, his party used the product in the RPTRA environment and distributed it to other RPTRAs for free. Seeing the high enthusiasm, he then decided to sell it for Rp 5,000 per 200-milliliter bottle.

"We have sold 100 bottles so far. In addition to foam a lot, users admit that this soap is softer on the hands, clean and fragrant," he added.

By so, it could be marketed widely. Until recently, new marketing made use of social media and word of mouth.

"We hope to take care of the licensing and become a distributor of hand washing soap," he stated.
