KPKP Sub-agency Holds Training on Decorative Plant Souvenirs

The West Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency held training on making ornamental plant souvenirs as an alternative to special gifts ahead of the New Year, which was done virtually.

The increasing demand and need for ornamental plants in the community makes selling ornamental plants profitable

West Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head Iwan Indriyanto said, it was participated by PKK cadres and residents from eight sub-districts and 56 urban villages. It was expected to be an alternative during the holiday and PSBB, thus they could continue to do activities at home and had economic value.

"They are taught techniques for arranging plants and choosing plants thus can be easily decorated beautifully, surely it can be used as a parcel," he expressed, Tuesday (12/29).

Under LRT Rail Beautified with Various Ornamental Plants

West Jakarta TP PKK Chairwoman Lisniawati Kuswanto expressed, the trend of growing ornamental plants is currently becoming popular in 2020 and is predicted to persist in the following years. Moreover, ornamental plant enthusiasts are mushrooming.

"Many people are competing to hunt for ornamental plants as collections or as promising business opportunities," he said.

He added, the training material provided was expected to increase public knowledge, especially PKK cadres in West Jakarta area.

"The increasing demand and need for ornamental plants in the community makes selling ornamental plants profitable," he stated.
