Fish Farming Group Under Thousand Islands KPKP Harvests 3.7 Tons Groupers

Lancang Kuning Usaha Baru Mandiri Joint Business Group (KUB) from Pari Island Urban Vilalge, South Thousand Islands Sub-district, which coached under Thousand Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency harvested 570 groupers with total 3.5 tons.

This harvest shows that fishery sector in Thousand Islands is still productive during pandemic

Thousand Islands KPKP Sub-agency Head, Devi Lidya conveyed, fish harvested today was the result of cultivating fingerlings which distributed by Tidung Island Marine Conservation and Cultivation Center (PBKL) of Jakarta KPKP Agency about six months ago.

"This harvest shows that fishery sector in Thousand Islands is still productive during pandemic," she expressed, Wednesday (12/30).

Thousand Islands Supports Development of Sea Tilapia Fish Farming on Kelapa Island

According to her, the success of fish farming group using floating net cage system is due to guidance and assistance, as well as sustainable seed assistance from KPKP.

"We have high hopes that fish farming can be an alternative economic source for fishermen thus they no longer depend their income only from fishing," she stated.
