PAM Jaya Uses Advanced Technology for Mookervart IPA

PAM Jaya installs Mookervart Water Management Installation (IPA) to process water in Mookervart River into drinking water for residents at Daan Mogot Public Housing.

Mookervart IPA that carries an advanced technology will be built in Daan Mogot Public Housing, West Jakarta, with production capacity of 10 liters per second which expected to increase number of customers to around 9,700 people.

Mookervart IPA construction is targeted to complete in February 2021 and it will operate every day for 24 hours. The quality of proccessed drinking water has qualified the drinking water standards which regulated in Permenkes No. 492/2020.

"Mookervart IPA wil use water from Mookervart River and Daan Mogot Reservoir as source of raw water and process it with complete technology to ensure its quality. This is one of PAM Jaya's quick win solution in accelerating its service to provide access for clean water to Jakarta residents, especially in this region," said Priyatno Bambang Hernowo, President Director of PAM Jaya, Friday (1/15).

By installing sophisticated technology, PAM Jaya as one of Jakarta's BUMD shows its continuous efforts in accelerating service to public by improving access to clean water, especially for local residents who haven't received clean water supply.

Mookervart IPA is built by PAM Jaya to provide clean water for residents at Daan Mogot Public Housing by taking raw water sources from Mookervart River, West Jakarta, and processing it using Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR) technology that is able to process organic and ammonia pollutants with help from organisms that grow on a medium. The raw water produced will be processed through Ultra Filtration that uses membrane to separate all particles such as dust, bacteria, and viruses.

Meanwhile, to separate salt and other marine pollutants, it will use Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology to produce high quality water that can be consumed. This advanced technology application was also welcomed well by Daan Mogot Public Housing manager.

"Clean water is something that all residents in Pesakih and Daan Mogot Public Housings have been waiting for. We sincerely welcome PAM Jaya to build Mookervart IPA," conveyed Ahmad Khaerurohim, Head of Tambora UPRS Administration Sub-section, who is also the manager of Daan Mogot Public Housing.

For information, PAM Jaya's current service is covering 64 percent of Jakarta with total 888,888 customers and total distributed water reaches 20,232 liters per second. PAM Jaya's service in 2023 is targeted to reach 82 percent. Currently, Jakarta still depends on raw water supply from areas outside Jakarta, where 81% of raw water comes from Juanda Jatiluhur Reservoir, 14% from bulk water purchase from Tangerang Regency PDAM, and 55 from rivers in Jakarta.

Mookervart IPA groundbreaking was carried out in November 2020. The construction is targeted to finish in February 2021 and it will operate for 24 hours.
