South Jakarta Vice Mayor Appreciates Kampung Tersenyum Program

With the kampung tersenyum program, 6,236 people have been helped amid the pandemic

South Jakarta Vice Mayor Isnawa Aji, appreciated the kampung tersenyum (smiling village) program initiated by the Rumah Sosial Kutub (RSK), which is a social institution engaged in collecting and managing Zakat, Infaq, Shodaqoh, and Waqf funds.

According to him, the program had been successful in providing benefits to environmental cleanliness, especially in overcoming the problem of used cooking oil waste in South Jakarta.

"I appreciate them (RSK) for working hard and consistently running the program that has had a positive impact and has made extraordinary achievements during this year," he expressed, Tuesday (1/19).

He hoped it could continuously run and raise public awareness thus not to throw used cooking oil waste carelessly.

"All this time maybe we have not thought about the existence of used cooking oil. They have provided education to all of us to be concerned about protecting the environment," he asserted.

RSK Director Suhito exclaimed, during a year, his party had involved 58 urban villages to participate in handling 91,242 liters of used cooking oil, 5,501 alms barrels had been distributed and Rp 553,940,000 in alms funds had been collected.

He added the South Jakarta areas ranked first was Pondok Labu Urban Village and Jagakarsa Sub-district, with the handling of the amount of waste handled was 10,260 liters and 22,950 liters.

"With the kampung tersenyum program, 6,236 people have been helped amid the pandemic," he closed.
