Update on COVID-19 Cases in Jakarta as of January 24, People Asked to Be Disciplined in Implementing 3M

Jakarta Government urges all people to be more disciplined in implementing 3M health protocols because COVID-19 positive cases are still increasing. Although the government continues to intensify 3T action, it needs cooperation from the community to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out for 15,531 specimens. From that amount, 13,612 specimens have been tested today to diagnose new cases with total of 3,512 positive results and 10,100 negative results.

"As many as 238,320 PCR test have been carried out per 1 million population. While the number of people tested for PCR in the past week reached 129,233," she explained as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, on Sunday (1/24).

Number of positive cases increased by 1,188 cases thus in total it reached 24,224 active cases as of today (including people who are still being treated/isolated). While for total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today reached 249,815 cases.

From that amount, 221,567 people recovered with recovery rate of 88.7% and 4,024 people died with mortality rate of 1.6%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.8%.

For positivity rate or positive cases percentage in the past week in Jakarta reached 16.5%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 9.8%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage no more than 5%.

Jakarta Government advised people who want to enter Jakarta to carry out self-examination for COVID-19 through JakCLM feature at JAKI application. By using JakCLM, people can get information about COVID-19 risks and various recommendations according to the risks they have. People's contribution in filling JakCLM can help Jakarta Government in preventing COVID-19 spread in Jakarta.

Jakarta Satpol PP will give sanction for anyone who don't wear mask and violate health protocols, as well as intensify guest book data collection. It is hoped that people can be more disciplined in implementing health protocols and participating in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

On Saturday (1/23) night, Jakarta Satpol PP also held an Integrated Operation to punish health protocols violators which led by Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin.

That operation was carried out on Jl. MH. Thamrin (Bundaran HI and its surrounding area), Jl. Sudirman (Cultural Park), Jl. Karet Belakang, Karet Kuningan Urban Village, Setiabudi, South Jakarta (Nostoi Resto), Jl. Denpasar of Karet Kuningan Urban Village, Setiabudi, South Jakarta (Rahayu Kuliner) and Jl. Raya Bogor of Kramat Jati Urban Village, East Jakarta (Kramat Jati Market).

On that occasion, officers also dispersed crowds around Bundaran HI area on Jl. MH. Thamrin, Cultural Park on Jl. Sudirman, Central Jakarta.

At Nostoi Resto which located on Jl. Karet Belakang, Karet Kuningan Urban Village, Setiabudi Sub-district, South Jakarta, the officers temporarily suspend the activity for 3x24 hours.

The officers appealed traders to comply with health protocols and dispersed crowding visitors at Rahayu Kuliner, Jl. Denpasar, Karet Kuningan Urban Village, Setiabudi, South Jakarta and Kramat Jati Market, Jl. Raya Bogor, East Jakarta.

Based on daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on January 23, 2021, at 8 PM, Satpol PP had caught 1,053 residents who didn't wear masks. Officers imposed social work sanction to 1,020 violators and administrative fines to 33 violators with total Rp 5,200,000.

They also monitored 398 restaurants and cafes. 7 of them were sanctioned for temporary suspension, 68 were dismissed and given written warning, and no violation in the remaining 323 restaurants.

On January 23, officers also carried out unannounced inspection (sidak) in 228 workplaces, business places, and industries. As the result, 4 of them were given sanction to stop their activities for 3x24 hours, 18 were given written warnings and no violation in the remaining 206 places.
