January 1-25, 5,358 People in North Jakarta Netted During PSBB

The North Jakarta Satpol PP has noted that as many as 5,358 violators have been netted after violation the PSBB rules during January 1-25. 

The mask operation is held every day

Yusuf Madjid, Head of North Jakarta Satpol PP said those 5,358 violators were netted in the mask operation starting from the city, sub-district, to urban village level.

"The mask operation is held every day," he expressed, Tuesday (1/26).

Of the 5,358 violators, he explained, 5,220 of them were subject to social sanctions and 138 were subject to administrative fines with a total of Rp 19,950,000.

"We hold the operation every day at 10 AM to 11 AM and 3 PM to 4 PM in Danau Sunter area, Marunda BKT, Penjaringan and PIK," he told.

He went on to say that his side collaborated with army/police to hold the operation. At that time, he explained, the priority for this operation was not related to the fine but how residents were educated to wear masks correctly and always applied health protocols.

"The point is we try to send the message that by wearing masks, where we can save families from exposure to COVID-19," he expressed.

He added similar action also held in the workplaces, industrial places, hotels and restaurants.

"For offices, we always coordinate with the Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency. It is also done to Satpol PP to monitor business places, tourist sites, cafes, restaurants, bars, and malls including MSMEs," he asserted.

As a results, from workplaces, industrial places and hotels, 99 received written warnings, 20 were temporarily closed, and 466 were no violations.

"As for restaurants, food stalls and cafes, 194 have received written warnings, 81 are temporarily closed, and 601 are no violations," he stated.
