Baru Dipasang, Ubin Pengarah Jalan Kramat Raya Banyak Rusak

Newly Repaired Sidewalks Already Damaged Again

Although just being repaired recently, the sidewalks on Jalan Salemba and Jalan Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta, are now damaged again.

Just being made but the tiles have broken. This is tantamount to endangering road users

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, some of the sidewalks’ tiles are already broken because the installation seemed to be done haphazardly. Such a thing would definitely endanger the pedestrians. Moreover, the sands and stones were left in disarray on the side of the road, which clearly disturbs traffic flow and passing motorists.

Sutanto (47), one of the road users, admitted concerned with the condition of the newly repaired sidewalks. Not to mention, the areas are always passed by many people every day.

“Just being made but the tiles have broken. This is tantamount to endangering road users,” he expressed, Tuesday (11/4).

Responding on this matter, Head of Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department, Jansen Saragih, claimed that the sidewalks’ maintenance is still the project contractor’s responsibility.

“The project is still in implementation phase, it has not been handed over to us. If the damaged parts were not repaired, we certainly won’t pay,” he stated.
