12 Pumps Operated to Overcome Floods in Jatinegara

Water pumping in residential areas RW 02 and 03 has been completed. And now we focus on Jalan Raya Jatinegara Barat

At least 12 pumps have been attached to overcome flooding that occurred on Jalan Jatinegara Barat and in residential areas of RW 02 and 03, Ciliwung inspection road, Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta, on Monday (2/8).

Jatinegara Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force Coordinator Tamrizal expressed, 8 out of 12 pumps consisted of five stationer pumps with 150 and 100 liters per second capacity that operated on Ciliwung inspection road. At the same location, there were also 3 mobile pumps with 100 and 250 liters per second capacity.

Flood Victims in Kramat Jati and Kampung Melayu Evacuated

Then 2 floating pumps with 100 liters per second and 2 mobile pumps had been operated to suck up the flood on Jalan Jatinegara Barat.

"Water pumping in residential areas RW 02 and 03 has been completed. And now we focus on Jalan Raya Jatinegara Barat," he stated.

To help evacuate people affected by flooding in RW 04, 05, 07 and 08, his party deployed 20 personnel to the location.

"It is caused by overflowing waters of Ciliwung River with water level around 3.5 meters," he explained.

Fire and Rescue Control Division Head Gatot Sulaeman added 2 units of light rescue were alerted to assist in suctioning the flood on Jalan Jatinegara Barat.

"We're collaborating with SDA officers to cope with flooding on Jalan Jatinegara Barat," he stated.
