Floodwaters have started to recede to 40 centimeters on Monday afternoon after inundating areas of Jakarta since Sunday, precisely in RW 03,05,06,07,08,09 and 10 Pejaten Timur Urban Village, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
Pejaten Timur Urban Village Head, Mohammad Rasyid said 13 neighborhoods (RT) spread over seven RWs were inundated after the Ciliwung River overflowed to 40-170 centimeters height. Its height had decreased by about 20-30 centimeters on Sunday afternoon but rose again at night and receded towards the morning.

To anticipate severe flooding, his side sent dozens of personnel under South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency and PPSU plus rubber boats to the location. One of them was RT 17/RW 07.
"They are on standby to evacuate residents if the floods are getting higher. Currently some are still staying on the second floor of their houses," he stated.
