Cilincing Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit, North Jakarta are on standby to anticipate inundation and flooding, especially when rain falls frequently like these days.

Cilincing Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Tjahyono Budi Setiawan mentioned, in order to anticipate inundation and flooding, his side has installed temporary cofferdam (kisdam) at RW 10, Sukapura Urban Village, building embankment around Belibis Reservoir, draining RW 03 retention pond in Sukapura Urban Village, and dredging Gubuk Genteng River.

"Various efforts have been made to make water flow faster to the estuary of Cakung Drain River," he mentioned, Tuesday (2/9).

Moreover, four mobile pump units were alerted at RW 06, Rorotan Urban Village, Brantas River, and Belibis Reservoir in Semper Barat Urban Village.

"We also optimize 2 pumps at Bulak Cabe Pump House to anticipate inundation and flooding. Each pump has capacity of 3,500 liters per second," he explained.

Currently, his side is constructing 2 reservoirs in Cilincing Sub-district. Belibis Reservoir construction progress has reached 60 percent, while 40 percent for Malang Rawa Reservoir.

"As an anticipatory measures, we have alerted 2 mobile pumps and constructed embankment at Belibis Reservoir thus water doesn't overflow into residential areas," he conveyed.
