Meat Supply towards Imlek is Still Safe

We want to ensure the availability of meat supplies in traditional markets. In fact, the supply is still safe

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor, Irwandi accompanied with his ranks took the time to monitor the supply of meat commodities ahead of the Chinese New Year, locally known as Imlek celebration in Block III, Pasar Senen, on Tuesday (2/9).

He regularly monitored the availability of basic goods, including meat, to a number of markets ahead of religious holidays including Eid ul Fitr, Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year.

"We want to ensure the availability of meat supplies in traditional markets. In fact, the supply is still safe," he expressed.

Based on the monitoring results, he explained chicken meat increased by around Rp 5,000 from around Rp 28,000 per kg to Rp 33,000 per kg.

Then the previous price of pork was Rp 90,000 per kg, rose at Rp 100,000 to Rp 115,000 per kg. As for beef at Monday Market was still stable in the range of Rp 120,000 per kg.

"So, the meat samples are safe or not to contain hazardous materials," he stressed.
