Tax Payment Must Not Be Entrusted to Officers

In order to prevent tax leakage and fraudulent acts, the taxpayers are urged not to entrust payment to tax officers.

Don’t let taxpayers entrust their tax payment to tax officers in department and sub-department offices because it is against the rule

“Don’t let taxpayers entrust their tax payment to tax officers in department and sub-department offices because it is against the rule,” stated Head of South Jakarta Tax Service I Sub-Department, WP Purba, Wednesday (11/5).

According to Purba, current tax collection on restaurant, entertainment, hotel, and parking is conducted in a method of self-assessment. In this method, the taxpayers are given complete trust to count, calculate, and pay their own tax dues in accordance to tax laws.

Online Taxpayers in the City is Still Minimum

“So, for taxpayers who have not paid their tax properly, they must report their earnings correctly in order to meet their obligations. And for those who have not registered their businesses, do it immediately,” he asserted.

Based on the latest data, South Jakarta Tax Service I Sub-Department has 1,687 business taxpayers. From that amount, only 815 taxpayers have implemented online tax system.

“Taxpayers who have not implemented online system are commonly taxpayers who use transaction tool of cash register which process needs additional tool,” explained Purba.

For business taxpayers who have paid the highest tax and own auto debit online system, especially those who are engaged in the sectors of restaurant, hotel, entertainment, and parking, South Jakarta Tax Service I Sub-Department gave them awards.

“We gave awards to business taxpayers with the highest tax payment and the first to apply auto debit online in their respective businesses. It’s a motivation to other taxpayers to pay their taxes on time,” he uttered.
