Jakparkir will Be Applied in 479 Parking Locations

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) targeted 79 off-street and 400 on-street parking locations in Jakarta to be integrated with Jakparkir application which is being developed by Parking Management Unit (UP).

Jakarta Dishub's Parking UP Head, Aji Kusambarto mentioned, this application is still tested on three roads, namely Jalan Raya Mangga Besar, West Jakarta; Jalan Denpasar, South Jakarta; and Jalan Boulevard Raya Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. This trial is carried out to improve features and data integration system in the application.

"Currently, there are 379 parking locations managed by Jakarta Government. Later on , we will apply it gradually in all parking locations. But currently, we are still testing it on three roads," he explained, Monday (2/15).

Jakparkir is an parking reservation application on roads in Jakarta. Motor vehicles users can view parking location information with location maps and make parking reservation before the arrival through a non-cash payment.

"Vehicle users can find out about parking locations and its capacity, then reserve a parking space, including how long they want to park their vehicles. Through Jakparkir app, vehicle users can make non-cash payment using JAK or QRIS wallet. When registering on the app, they only need to register vehicle's type and license plate numbers," he said.

According to him, this application has been integrated with Jakarta Dishub's KIR Unit, Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency, and Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda).

"Vehicle users and related officers can find out the validity period of KIR test, emission test, and vehicle tax which registered in application. Jakparkir app not only makes it easier for vehicle users to find parking space, but also increase awareness to pay tax, undergo emission test and KIR test for their vehicles," he stated.

Vehicle owners who haven't paid taxes, undergone emission test and KIR test will be subjected to pay the highest parking rate according to Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 31/2017 about Parking Service Rates, Transaction Violation Fines, and Fees for Moving or Towing Motor Vehicles.

"Now it hasn't been imposed yet because it is still in trial period while waiting for data integration process. Since it is technology-based app, we will make it more effective to increase regional revenue. Thus later, all parking lots in Jakarta will use this app and all data is integrated," he conveyed.
