Low-Emission Zone Applied in Kota Tua

Starting Monday (2/8), Jakarta Transportation Agency officially implemented Low-Emission Zone (LEZ) in Kota Tua, Taman Sari, Central Jakarta

Private motor vehicles and public transport are prohibited from crossing roads that have been designated as low emission areas for 24 hours

In Kota Tua, LEZ is implemented for 24 hours along Jalan Pintu Besar Utara - Jalan Kalibesar Barat (Southern Side) -  Jalan Kunir (Southern Side) - Jalan Kemukus - Jalan Ketumbar - Jalan Lada.

"Private motor vehicles and public transport are prohibited from crossing roads that have been designated as low emission areas for 24 hours," stated Syafrin Liputo, Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub).

He explained, motor vehicles that allowed to cross LEZ area are motor vehicles owned by local residents with special stickers, Transjakarta buses, and logistical transportation that supplied needs of various activities in Kota Tua.

For this reason, he hopes a change in traffic transportation management for private motor vehicles owners and public transport.

"Residents who want to visit Kota Tua area can park their vehicles in court of Glodok and Kota Intan," he mentioned.

His side also provided shuttle bus services from two parking locations for residents who want to go to Kota Tua.

"Residents who want to travel to Kota Tua can use Transjakarta bus and electric train (KRL) via Jakarta Kota Station," he closed.
