9,000 Tanah Abang Traders Have Been Registered for COVID-19 Vaccination

As many as 9,000 traders at Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta, have been registered for COVID-19 vaccination that will be carried out starting Wednesday (2/17).

Total 10 health workers will be deployed to inject COVID-19 vaccines at each locations

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor (Plh), Irwandi said, COVID-19 vaccination for traders will be carried out for five days and centered in two locations, namely Block A 8th and 12th floors, Tanah Abang Market.

"Total 10 health workers will be deployed to inject COVID-19 vaccines at each locations," he informed when attending rehearsal on 8th floor of Blok A, Tanah Abang Market, Tuesday (2/16).

He hopes by injecting COVID-19 vaccines to thousands Tanah Abang traders can reduce COVID-19 transmission since this location is the largest textile trading center in Southeast Asia.

"It is to restore trading activities in Tanah Abang Market," he added.

Previously, Health Ministry's Disease Prevention and Control Acting General Director, Maxi Rein Rondonuwu stated, 55 thousand Tanah Abang Market traders from Block A to Block G were targeted by government to receive vaccines.

"Our target is to vaccinate around 55 thousand traders at Tanah Abang Market," he closed.
