People in Kampung Ambon Get Skill Trainings

West Jakarta Administration provides training to people living in Kampung Ambon, which is now called as Permata Complex, Cengkareng Sub-District. As known, Kampung Ambon is famous as a nest of drugs sales. Thus, its image would be changed through skill training activities for the people who live there, so they would switch their livelihood from selling drugs to doing legitimate businesses.

With those trainings, (Kampung Ambon) residents are expected could be independent and not depend on drugs business anymore

Head of West Jakarta Work Training Center (PPKD), Anwir Ismail, stated that the skill trainings provided include motorcycle technician, computer operator, and beauty skill. With these trainings, the people in Kampung Ambon are expected would stop doing drugs business.

“With those trainings, (Kampung Ambon) residents are expected could be independent and not depend on drugs business anymore. They could be more prosperous with higher income,” he said, Thursday (11/6).

Serving Healthier Food Training Provided for Monas PKL

According to Ismail, his party will help the training participants aged 18-30 years old who have advanced to be distributed to companies that need their power.

“And for those whose aged over 30 years old, they will be given capital to open their own business,” he added.

Niky (20), one of the training participants, admitted she is happy with this program held in Kampung Ambon, because she has the opportunity to work in a company, as promised by West Jakarta PPKD.

“Hopefully the training could be useful for me and other people in Kampung Ambon,” she expressed.
